M G Charitable trust was founded by its chairman Sri S M Venkatpathi in the year 1997 in memory of his parents Sri Muniswamappa and Smt Gowramma. Present

East Point school was started in the year 1998 and subsequently East Point College of Engineering and Technology was started in 1999. Today, M G Charitable trust has a total of nine institutions, which includes Engineering, Management, Higher education, Pharmacy and Nursing. The total student strength is in excess of six thousand. Over the last decade, 'East Point' has emerged as a premier brand in the higher education space, known for its commitment, quality and excellence. Major strength of the group is its Intellectual capital, vast experience in education, training, research and business perspectives, excellent infrastructure, spacious campus and well established practices.

The city campus at Banasawadi, Bangalore houses East Point School, East Point Pre University College and East Point College of Management. Seventy five acre green and serene 'Jnana Prabha' campus at Bidarahalli is an ideal place for educational institution. East Point College of Engineering and Technology, East Point College of Engineering for Women, East Point College of Higher Education, Department Management Studies, East Point College of Pharmacy, and East Point Research Academy are located in this beautiful campus. East Point InfoTech is a registered company on campus which provides opportunities for the students to earn while learning. Presently BPO operations are catering to American and European clients. It is proposed to start Engineering and K P O services shortly. East Point alumni are placed in various multinational and prestigious national companies and over the years, they have earned a good reputation through their dedicated and meritorious work in the respective fields.
