Master of Computer Application (M.C.A)

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a two-year post-graduate degree program in computer science and information technology. Students in this program are taught to apply their knowledge of mathematics, science, and computing appropriately to model software applications. The curriculum provides a robust theoretical foundation in programming languages, software development, database management, and computer networks, along with practical skills that are emphasized for solving real-world computing problems.

The primary focus of the MCA program is on designing information systems for various organizations, including banks, insurance companies, hotels, and hospitals. MCA graduates play a crucial role in developing application software across diverse areas where computers are employed.

The curriculum covers a mix of core and elective subjects, including Mathematical Foundation of Computer Science, Programming in C, Computer Organization and Architecture, Data Structures, Object-Oriented Programming using C, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Communication Skills and Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Web Technologies, Java Programming, Mobile Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Data Mining, and a Project Work component etc.

Eligibility : *

* As notified by the Government of Karnataka, BNU and AICTE from time to time.

• Graduates in any discipline from a university recognized by the government of India, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or its equivalent, including language subjects.
• The candidate should have studied Mathematics/ Computer science/ Business Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications/ Electronics as subject at PUC level or equivalent HSC (XII standard) or at Degree level.
