It’s heartening that “East Point Group of Institutions” has come of age and I am immensely happy to share that our East Point College of Engineering and Technology (EPCET) will be celebrating its “Silver Jubilee” during the year 2024. Our medical college has admitted its 5th batch of students and it is all set for launching PG courses in medicine. We started our “M G Charitable Trust” in the year 1997, with the motive of establishing educational institutions to serve the public by providing education. We established “East Point School” in the year 1997 and our EPCET in the year 1999. Since 1999, we have established 13 institutions including a medical college and a 1000 bedded East Point Hospital. Barring 3 institutions, all other institutions are located on a sprawling “Jnanaprabha Campus” at Bidarahalli, off Old Madras Road and today there are around 10000 students on roll in these institutions.
My beloved husband, late “Dr. S M Venkatpathi” tirelessly worked to realize the vision we had, i.e., “East Point Group of Institutions aim at building a Better World and a Better Mankind by imparting quality education through the learned academic fraternity who have dedicated themselves to the motto of Education + Humanity”

With immense pleasure, I would like to share that “East Point Group of Institutions” has started making a mark in the higher education sector in our country. At present more than 10000 students studying on our Jnanaprabha Campus. Our medical college has admitted its 5th batch of students and it is all set for launching PG courses in medicine. Our 1000 bedded hospital with many super specialties is attracting a significant number of patients and the hospital is serving the healthcare needs of the poor and the needy free of medical expenses.
Our Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Pharmacy students and faculty members are using our hospital not only as their training ground but also involved in serving the healthcare needs of the poor and needy. During Covid-19, the doctors, students, and the members of the faculty from medical, nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy provided the best healthcare to the patients. It’s really amazing to describe the concern that these members of staff and students have towards our society.
I am happy that we are following in the footsteps of our beloved father Dr. S.M. Venkatpathi and we hope to realize the contribution he wanted to make to the healthcare sector of our society through healthcare education and medical care.

During the last 2 decades, we have experienced revolutionary changes in the ICT and this has changed the way we interact with each other and the whole globe has become a village in the real sense. Industry 4.0 has replaced traditional sustainable technologies with disruptive technologies. AI, Data Sciences, Virtual and Augmented reality, and Cloud computing are facilitating the navigation and control of autonomous vehicles. Digital technologies are threatening to disrupt traditional teaching and learning. There are many online universities offering degrees, learning anywhere and anytime is the buzzword today. The knowledge eruption is happening in almost all sectors, the job profiles are changing from traditional to new ones which were unheard earlier. The new generation of students look for picking up knowledge and skills in whatever sector that interests them and also they would like to learn the required skills in the shortest possible time and take up the opportunity. The students would like to learn from the best and accumulate credits from various universities for the award of the degree. There is a great challenge for the traditional university system to meet these dynamic changes and thus there is a need for new models in education and new programs in education.
